From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
